How Many People in the United States Worked from Home Prior to the Pandemic?
According to Pew, that figure was 20%.
What Percentage of Americans Would Prefer to Continue Working Remotely When the Coronavirus Pandemic is Over?
The Pew article puts that figure at 54%.
Staying Motivated and Free from Interruption Are the Biggest Obstacles to Working Remotely
The Pew article finds that the two biggest obstacles are 1) staying motivated (36% of those surveyed); and, 2) avoiding interruption (32%).
Are Teleworkers Experiencing Technology Challenges or Workspace Issues?
Interestingly, the Pew Article found that a far smaller percentage of remote workers identified finding adequate workspace as a major problem (23%), and even fewer struggled with technology (13%).
Are Remote Workers Struggling With Meeting Deadlines?
Perhaps the most encouraging finding was that only 19% of teleworkers find meeting deadlines to be a major problem. Goes to show that we Americans are a hard working, industrious bunch who value themselves and their jobs.
Do Companies in the United States Plan to Continue Telework After the Pandemic Ends?
According to a recent article from Forbes.com, "Another recent Gartner CFO survey revealed that over two-thirds (74%) plan to permanently shift employees to remote work after the Covid-19 crisis ends."
