Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn, Sr. Died Today

Tony Gwynn, the Retired Hall of Fame Outfielder Who Played is Entire Career With San Diego Padres, Dies Today of Cancer at Age 54

This is terrible news.  Mr. Gwynn, who's son Tony, Jr. plays for the Phillies, was only 54 years of age.

Just yesterday, I read a beautiful article about the relationship between Mr. Gwynn and his son, who waxed poetic about the wonderful relationship with his father.  It was clear in reading the article that Mr. Gwynn's cancer had taken a turn for worse, and today's news is just terribly sad.
