According to HuffPost, Congress has agreed to extend
unemployment benefits for an additional year, retroactive to December 28, 2012.
Congress first approved the
extra unemployment benefits in 2008, during the worst recession since the Great
Depression, and had prior to this recent action voted to reauthorize them 10
times.
